Helpful tips on how to prepare for your real estate photography session.
- Arrive on location 15-30 minutes before the scheduled time.
- Have the home ready to shoot when the photographer arrives.
- No open houses during the shoot.
- Fewer people around, the better.
- Remove all pets from the shooting location.
- No construction or workers at the same time of the shoot.
Interiors
- Turn on all lights & replace any burned-out bulbs.
- Clean and declutter as much as possible.
- Clear kitchen countertops, minimal appliances.
- Clear the bathroom countertops and shower - toothbrushes, shampoo bottles, etc.
- Close all toilet seats.
- Place any decorative items, plants, or floral arrangements.
- Open window coverings to your preference.
- Clean windows - remove streaks and dirt.
- Laundry rooms, garages, closets, and pantries will not be photographed unless specified.
- Make beds and straighten pillows.
Exteriors
- Stow trash cans.
- Sweep driveways and sidewalks.
- Coil or remove hoses.
- Open patio umbrellas and set out cushions.
- Uncover BBQs, pools, spas.
- Remove children and pet toys.
- Remove gates/fences around pool.
- Remove pool vacumes and skimmers.
- Don't splash water on the concrete around the pool.
- Remove any obstacles or trash in the yard.
- Remove vehicles from the driveway.
- If your property is on a busy street please use trash cans or your vehicle to ensure no one else parks there. When its time to shoot we can move everything and get an unobstructed shot.
